| Description: 45-70 is a loud, raw, bare bones, balls to the wall, old school rock band. | ||||
| Biography: 45-70 was born and breed on loud, raw, live hard rock and metal from the 80s and 90s. All the members were born in the great white north. Far from big cities, clubs, and stadiums where the only audience`s are in small local bars that offer only cover bands. With no local out source for there music, they were forced to write and jam for each other and themselves. They gave 100% from the heart rock n`roll, whether it be a garage or basement built studio. Living and breathing music, there influences are shown from plain clothed Metallica to early raw Motley- Crue. Tired of the digitally overproduced sound of the new hard rock, they made a pack to get back to what they missed playing and hearing. They started writing and playing the sound and type of music that they wanted to hear. Staying away from mainstream labels and media, they decided to rely souly on local friends , fans and each other for input to produce there own songs. Armed with high gained guitars set on 10 and a hard hitting balls to the wall percussionist, they let it all hang out in every recording. They play and sing from there heart, nothing else. Writing and arranging all there own songs the way that feels the best. They are your everyday musicians without the rock star dream. There goal is to play heavy music and to have as much fun doing it as possible. Only being heard by the local few. They were persuaded into offering their music to the masses. . So this is the beginning, the beginning of the loud, raw,100% rock`n`roll machine we`ll come to love as 45-70 |

| Press Release: 45-70: Up-and-Coming Michigan Rock Band Making the Music They Want to Hear Roscommon, Michigan, Dec. 15 2009—Are you tired of the overproduced, smoothed-out and watered-down state of current hard rock music? So were the members of underground Michigan rock band 45-70—and they decided to do something about it. Now, bolstered by local word-of-mouth and the buzz surrounding their debut Get Ready to Bleed, 45-70 are bringing old-school, rough-around-the-edges hard rock to the new millennium. 45-70 members Kris Tulgetske (vocals and lead guitar), Eric Layton (guitar), bassist Dan Decker and drummer Mark Selon grew up in four different corners of Michigan, but they all shared a love for raw, classic 80s and 90s rock and metal bands, from Metallica to Pantera to Motley Crüe. By chance, the four ended up in the same Michigan town, Roscommon; drawn together by their passion for hard rock and their frustration with slick, overproduced modern rock bands, the four began jamming and playing local bars, and they eventually decided to write and record some original material. Marc Selon and Kris Tulgetske wrote all eight songs on the band’s debut, Get Ready to Bleed, and the band recorded the tunes at Starplow Studios. While the band drew on the solid foundation of 80s and 90s metal, they were also inspired by newer bands, including Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet for my Valentine, to create their distinct blend of high distortion guitars and hard-hitting percussion. The members of 45-70 brought their raw energy and take-no-prisoners attitude to every aspect of the album, from the uncompromising volume of their high-gain guitars, to their gritty lyrics (“W.D.M.,” short for “Warrior Death Machine,” is an unflinching look at U.S. soldiers fighting in Iraq), to their bare bones production. The band is committed to recording wide open, with no tricks, sampling, or corrections, to capture the unadulterated energy and individuality of a live performance. During the recording process, 45-70 had no plans to release their material; however, when the album accidentally got out to the local community, the band members were surprised to find themselves with an instant following and fan base. While the band continued to perform at Michigan-area clubs, their local success encouraged them to expand their internet presence, offering Get Ready to Bleed to the masses via iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, ShockHound and CD Baby. In addition, 45-70’s tunes spin on internet radio station Jango.com, and the band was featured on the front page of underground music website MadeLoud. Currently, 45-70 are working on their next full-length album and planning to tour following its release. In the meantime, you can check them out at their official website, www.45-70theband.com, and at their MySpace page, www.myspace.com/theband4570. |
